Edited by Lianne Keary. (128 pages) MARIA BURPEE: A RECOLLECTION OF NEW LONDON (2009) Written in 1892, Maria Burpee's memoir offers recollections of her life in New London between 1830 and 1860. (80 pages / available / $10) NEW LONDON: THE FIRST 200 YEARS (1980) This illustrated booklet contains information about roadside historical markers and the proceedings of the town's bicentennial celebration. (84 pages / available / free) REFLECTIONS IN A MILLPOND (1985) Compiled for the Sesquicentennial celebration of Scytheville-Elkins, this book gathers stories from local residents about the evolution of this village within the town of New London. (136 pages) REFLECTIONS IN A MILLPOND (2020) This revised second edition of the 1985 Scytheville-Elkins history book was edited and annotated for improved clarity and accuracy. (146 pages / available / $10) THEN & NOW: MAIN STREET (2009) This booklet is the exhibit catalog for a photography exhibit commissioned by the New London Historical Society. It compares over a dozen historic images taken along Main Street with those taken from the same perspective in the late spring of 2009. Edited by James Perkins. (16 pages) TOWN HISTORY (1899) This first history of New London covers the period from the town's original grants in 1753 and 1773 through 1899. There were two published editions (1899 and 1979), generally available from online resellers. The first edition is available via Google Books. Written by Myra B. Lord, published by the New London History Committee. TOWN HISTORY: MIRROR TO AMERICA (1952) This second history of New London (Mirror to America) covers the period from 1900 to 1950. The book remains under the author's copyright and has not been reissued. Written by J. Duane Squires.
