Most items held in the Archives have been donated by organizations, individuals, and town committees. (See Donor Information.)
On rare occasions, the Archives may purchase materials of significant historical interest using a town-approved fund designated for that purpose. These items must be related directly to New London town history and fall into the category of ephemera (diaries, albums, letters, documents, and digital content); other kinds of 3-dimensional items may be of interest to our local museums, the New London Historical Society (19th century) or The WFK Ice House Foundation (20th century).
